Metal Gear solid V the phantom pain is an open world action-adventure stealth video game. It is the sequel to Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes. The game is set in 1984 during the cold war, and takes place around Parts of Africa and Afghanistan.
The game follows Snake the main character of Metal Gear solid V after he awakens from a coma that he has been in for nine years. When he awakes he helps lead the Diamond dogs a new mercenary group. He goes to Afghanistan under a secret codename ‘Venom Snake’.

Snake’s former partner Kazuhira Miller is being held in Afghanistan by the soviet forces. Snake has to rescue Miller and to prove that he is still alive. He will take his revenge on the cypher that killed many of his men.
You will take on the roll of Venom snake in this open world game. You have total freedom to decide how to approach and complete each mission. The open world is described as 200 times bigger than Ground Zeros, and features fortresses, bases paths and areas without many enemies.
You have the option to decide when you will enter enemy controlled areas and you can decide when you will leave.
There are small individual missions that tie in together and make up part of the overall story. The game features some new modes of transport including vehicles and horses, and if needed you can steal enemy vehicles and use them to escape.
